QUETTA – Four people including three Punjabi speaking labourers were shot dead in two separate incidents of firing in Panjgour and Quetta on Monday. Police sources said some unidentified armed men riding a motorbike sprayed a volley of bullets on a group of labourers in Tasp area of Panjguor district, bordering Iran.
As a result, three labourers identified as Ramzan, Ejaz Husstain, residents of Multan, and Irfan resident of Bawalpur, received critical wounds and died before reaching the hospital. Another labourer identified as Nasir Shah sustained critical wounds in the attack. The assailants managed to escape from the site after committing the crime.
After getting information, police and other law enforcement agencies rushed to the site and moved the dead and the injured to a nearby hospital. Hospital sources said the condition of the injured was serious.
Police termed the incident as target killing and said the labourers were working inside an under-construction house when the assailants attacked them with sophisticated weapons. No group has accepted responsibility for the killings till filing of this report.
Police have registered a case against unidentified persons and started investigation into the incident.
In another incident, unidentified people killed a person namely Gul Hassan in Faqirabad area within the jurisdiction of civil line police station in Quetta.
The deceased was on his way when armed attackers opened fire on him. Resultantly, he sustained critical wounds and died on the spot.
Police said that investigations were underway to ascertain motive behind the incident.
Meanwhile, a vehicle carrying employees of a gas company was partially damaged when explosives planted on a road in Sui area of Dera Bugti exploded.
However, no loss of life was reported in the blast.
