Recently the Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB) completed a Project in remote area of District Khuzdar (Karkh and adjoing areas) A total of 200 Homes were provided a stand alone systems of 120 Watts.the project provided the basic amenity of electricity for lighting.The most considerable benefits was observed to be the socio-economic uplift removing the sense of deprivation..The project resulted in saving alomost 50% of the cost that might have been spent if these villages were electrified through conventional resources an through the extension of the mnational grid, the project resulted in improvement in the living standards of the people, increase in working hours due to provision of light in the night hours, facilitation of children education and increased enviromental an public health benefits due to reduction in fossil fuel use for lighting.
